Gary Marano ran a Toy Drive out of the Racoon Lodge. When he died in 2000 The Toy Run was continued by Michelle Dell and the Hogs & Heifers family.
In 2014 I was asked if I could cover the role of Santa as Santa Allen’s flight had been cancelled and he couldn’t make it. I said yes. Fast forward to Summer of 2015 and Hogs & Heifers was forced to close their NYC location and I took over the Toy Run.
I’ve continued the Gary Marano Memorial Toy run since, and in 2020 formed Garys Run and in 2021 we received IRS approval as a 501-C-3 charity!
Our mission is to help families cope with the stressors caused by poverty, homelessness and other associated conditions through acts of charity fostered by the motorcycling community.
